BMW M3 Wheel Sizing: The Complete Guide (E46 to G80)
Why M3 Wheel Sizing Is Trickier Than People Think
Every BMW M3 generation has slightly different fender clearance, brake caliper geometry, suspension geometry, and bolt pattern requirements. A spec that fits an E92 will rub on a G80.
This guide gives you the working envelope for each generation — diameter, width, offset, and the things that catch people out.
E46 M3 (2000-2006)
Bolt pattern: 5x120 · Hub bore: 72.6mm · OE size: 18" x 8.0J ET47 (front) / 18" x 9.0J ET24 (rear)
- 18" setup: 18x8.5 ET25 / 18x9.5 ET27.
- 19" setup: 19x8.5 ET30 / 19x10 ET25.
- Avoid 20": Tire sidewall gets too small.
E92 / E90 / E93 M3 (2007-2013) — V8
Bolt pattern: 5x120 · Hub bore: 72.6mm · OE size: 19" x 9.0J ET23 / 19" x 10.0J ET24
- 18" (track): 18x9.5 ET22 / 18x10.5 ET25.
- 19" (street): 19x9.5 ET22 / 19x10.5 ET25.
- 20": 20x9 ET25 / 20x10.5 ET25.
F80 M3 / F82 M4 (2014-2018)
Bolt pattern: 5x120 · Hub bore: 72.6mm · OE size: 19" x 9.0J ET29 / 19" x 10.0J ET29
- 19" street: 19x9.5 ET25 / 19x10.5 ET28.
- 20" street/show: 20x9.5 ET27 / 20x10.5 ET25.
- 18" track: 18x9.5 ET25 / 18x10.5 ET25.
- CCB note: Carbon-ceramic brakes need verified clearance.
G80 M3 / G82 M4 (2021-present)
Bolt pattern: 5x112 · Hub bore: 66.6mm · OE size: 19" x 9.5J ET29 (front) / 20" x 10.5J ET34 (rear)
Critical: G80 switched to 5x112. F-generation wheels do NOT fit G80.
- Staggered 19/20: 19x9.5 ET29 / 20x10.5 ET34.
- Square 19": 19x10.5 ET29 all four.
- Square 20": 20x10.5 ET29 front and rear.
Front note: 20x10.5 ET25 front rubs in compression — use ET29+ on front for 20" setups.
